On Sunday I took a little trip back to the Blaauklippen Market with my parents.
This weekend there was a small antiques fair there as well, which turned out to be very small – and not anything too amazing. I didn’t mind too much, because even a short trip to the Blaauwklippen Market is a good one. It’s open every Sunday from 10am and it hosts a variety of stalls, with great food, craft beer, cider, coffee, clothing, crafts, plants and you can pop into the Blaauklippen tasting room to pick up a bottle of wine to enjoy as well.
There is a lot of seating space on long tables, which means you can sit down with your food and family and have a good lunch – and there’s always live music (and good live music as well!).
We took a walk around the market, picked up some mushrooms on toast and Blaauwklippen Chenin Blanc and chilled at the tables for a while. We still had other shopping to do, so we couldn’t stay too long – but I did have time to pick up a few more plants for my room!
If you ever find yourself in Stellenbosch over a weekend, and you want to stop off somewhere for a quick bite to eat and to see some local crafts and produce – this is definitely worth a stop.
What were you up to this weekend?
